Colour matching is the whole job
Anyone can fill a dent. The difference between a repair you notice and a repair you don’t is colour.
We mix stains and pigments on site and test them against your surface in daylight before committing to anything. Grain is drawn back in where it’s been lost, and sheen is matched to the surrounding finish because a satin patch on a gloss table is as obvious as the damage was.
The right finish for the piece
Oiled oak and lacquered walnut need completely different treatment, and using the wrong product locks in a problem that’s harder to undo later.
We work in lacquer, hardwax oil, French polish and wax, choosing by the piece and how it’s used. Period furniture is finished with materials appropriate to its age a Victorian chest gets shellac, not polyurethane.
Repair or replace?
Replacement only makes sense when the timber is structurally gone serious rot, or woodworm through a load bearing section. Everything else is usually repairable for a fraction of replacement cost, and you keep the original piece.
If we think replacement is the honest answer, we’ll say so rather than take the job.
